The table assumes a standard 2.8–3.2 m ceiling and normal moisture infiltration. Increase capacity by one model if any of the following apply:
• Ceiling height above 3.5 m (the air volume to treat is bigger than the floor area suggests)
• Frequent door openings, loading dock, or other significant air infiltration
• Internal water source — laundry, kitchen, pool, planted area, irrigation
• Target humidity below 50% RH (more moisture must be removed)
• Operating temperature below 18°C (compressor capacity drops below rated values)
AHAM (Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers): 80°F / 60% RH (≈ 26.7°C / 60% RH). Most North American brands — AlorAir, Aprilaire, Santa Fe, Dri-Eaz — publish PPD ratings under this condition.
DOE 2019 (US Department of Energy): 65°F / 60% RH (≈ 18.3°C / 60% RH). Cooler test condition; produces a smaller published number, used for Energy Star qualification.
• Our catalog: 30°C / 80% RH. A warmer and more humid test condition, common in Chinese and European dehumidifier specifications. Produces the largest published number of the three because air at this temperature and humidity holds the most moisture for the unit to extract.
Approximate conversion ratios (based on absolute humidity between test conditions):
Our rating × 0.62 ≈ AHAM rating (in L/day). Multiply that by 2.11 to get PPD.
Our rating × 0.39 ≈ DOE 2019 rating (in L/day).
Example: GDH-60E is rated 60 L/day under 30°C / 80% RH. The equivalent figure under AHAM conditions is approximately 37 L/day, or about 78 PPD. Under DOE 2019 conditions it's approximately 23 L/day. This is normal compressor refrigerant dehumidifier physics — extraction capacity tracks the absolute moisture content of the inlet air, which falls sharply as temperature and humidity drop. The same effect applies to every brand on the market; what differs is which test condition each brand chooses to publish.
Condenser and evaporator both use copper tubing. Copper has higher thermal conductivity than aluminum, and resists corrosion under continuous high-humidity exposure better than aluminum fin alternatives. The GDH-CE ceiling-mounted series adds titanium foil fins on the coil for environments with chemically active air (pools, kitchens, coastal humidity).
Cabinets are fabricated from thickened sheet metal at our Jiaxing facility — we operate in-house CNC sheet metal cutting, punching, bending, and forming workshops, so cabinet quality is controlled directly rather than sourced from third-party suppliers. Surface treatment is moisture-proof coating to resist cabinet corrosion in tropical and coastal environments.
Different models use different refrigerants depending on capacity and target market: R290 (propane, low GWP, preferred for EU markets), R134a (in lower-capacity models), and R32 (newer EU/Asia-Pacific standard). The refrigerant for each specific model is shown in the product matrix tables above. For OEM projects, refrigerant choice can be adjusted to match destination market regulations.
LCD touchscreen control panel with built-in humidity sensor on all models. Operators set target humidity, mode, and timer directly on the panel. Drainage: water tank with optional drain hose on portable models; direct continuous hose drainage on ceiling-mounted models. Automatic defrosting on all compressor units. Fault self-protection: compressor overload, refrigerant leakage, electrical leakage, water-overflow shutoff.
All production takes place at our Jiaxing facility. Three workshops per catalog: Production Workshop (CNC sheet metal, punching, bending, forming, mechanical press), Condenser Production Workshop (fin pressing, copper tube brazing, condenser assembly and inspection), Assembly Workshop (main unit assembly line, component installation, refrigeration system assembly). Functional testing and final inspection take place before packaging per our 6-step customization flow.
Most commercial dehumidifier brands sold in North America and Europe (AlorAir, Aprilaire, Santa Fe, Dri-Eaz, Ebac) are either US-engineered units assembled overseas, or Chinese-OEM products with a brand markup. Sourcing directly from the manufacturer changes the economics:

Our standard commercial units run on 220V/50Hz. For markets requiring 110V/60Hz (most of North America for plug-in commercial), 240V/50Hz (UK, parts of Asia), 220V/60Hz (Korea, parts of Latin America), or other configurations, we can adjust the electrical specification at the project level.
Different markets have different refrigerant regulations. The EU F-gas rules increasingly favor R290 and R32 with low GWP; North America has been moving toward R-454B for residential and some commercial. We can specify the refrigerant for your project based on where the units will ship.

For a standard 100 m² commercial basement with a 2.8–3.0 m ceiling and normal infiltration, the GDH-58E (58 L/day) or GDH-90E (90 L/day) is the typical specification. Choose GDH-58E if the basement is dry-sealed with low moisture infiltration; choose GDH-90E if there are foundation moisture issues, frequent door openings to outside, or internal moisture sources (laundry, water utility). For ducted installation through HVAC, GDH-CE56 or GDH-CE90 from our ceiling-mounted line is the equivalent.
Yes. Crawl space dehumidifier installation is a major application for our portable GDH series — GDH-50E or GDH-58E handles encapsulated crawl spaces up to about 100 m². For installation in a non-encapsulated crawl space (no 6-mil vapor barrier on the ground), size up by one model because moisture infiltration from the soil will be continuous. Direct the unit's drain hose to a sump pump or exterior gravity drain — do not leave condensate to accumulate in the crawl space.
Three differences: (1) Duty cycle — commercial units run continuously through the moisture season; residential cycle on/off through the day; (2) Power — commercial uses 220V single-phase (in some markets 110V/60Hz for OEM); residential uses standard household 110V/240V at lower current draw; (3) Drainage — commercial offers continuous drain hose connection for unattended operation; residential uses a tank you empty. SHISHUO commercial units are built for the first specification — continuous duty with continuous drainage.
Our catalog publishes capacity in L/day at 30°C / 80% RH test conditions, which is a warmer and more humid condition than the AHAM standard (80°F / 60% RH = 26.7°C / 60% RH) used by most North American brands. To convert: multiply our L/day figure by approximately 0.62 to get the equivalent AHAM L/day, then by 2.11 to get PPD. For example, GDH-60E rated 60 L/day in our catalog corresponds to about 37 L/day or 78 PPD at AHAM conditions. Under the cooler DOE 2019 standard (65°F / 60% RH), the figure drops further to about 23 L/day. We publish both numbers in our product matrix tables so you can compare directly with AHAM-rated competitors. This temperature-dependence applies to all compressor refrigerant dehumidifiers — not just ours.

Voltage, refrigerant, color, controls, and packaging are all adjustable at the project level.

All compressor refrigerant commercial dehumidifiers in the GDH and GDH-CE range operate between 5°C and 38°C ambient. Below 5°C, the evaporator coil cannot stay above frost point even with automatic defrost, so capacity falls off sharply. If you need extraction below 5°C — cold storage rooms, unheated winter garages, refrigerated logistics — choose a desiccant unit from our ROD series instead, which extracts moisture by adsorption rather than condensation and is not temperature-limited the same way.
Our GDH-CE ceiling-mounted models are designed for concealed overhead or in-plenum installation, ducted to the conditioned space. They are not designed for wall surface mounting in the way some North American residential dehumidifiers are configured. If your project requires wall-mounted dehumidifier installation specifically (for example, a slim profile mounted to a wall in a corridor), discuss this with us at the inquiry stage — wall-mounted enclosures can be designed under ODM.
