Floor-Standing Air Conditioner with Humidity Control — Constant Temperature and Humidity Units for Precision Environments

Floor-Standing Air Conditioner with Humidity Control — Constant Temperature and Humidity Units for Precision Environments

Why a Floor-Standing Air Conditioner with Humidity Control

A normal air conditioner controls temperature and only removes moisture as a side effect; it cannot hold a humidity setpoint or raise humidity when the air is too dry. A floor-standing air conditioner with humidity control — a constant temperature and humidity unit — holds both temperature and humidity to a setpoint at the same time, in one cabinet. Four characteristics define it. (This is a fixed precision unit; for mobile, directional cooling without humidity control, see our portable air conditioner range.)

Independent Temperature AND Humidity Control

A standard air conditioner removes some moisture incidentally while it cools — it cannot raise humidity, cannot hold RH to a setpoint, and leaves humidity uncontrolled when only mild cooling is needed. A floor-standing air conditioner with humidity control holds a target RH independently of the temperature setpoint: it dehumidifies when the room is too humid and humidifies when it is too dry, so temperature and humidity are both held to spec regardless of season or load. This is the defining difference between a comfort AC and a constant temperature and humidity unit.
+

Floor-Standing Cabinet Form Factor

The floor-standing cabinet format suits the continuous, equipment-grade duty these units perform. A floor-standing unit houses the larger compressor, dehumidification coil, humidifier, and heater required for full four-function control, stands in the conditioned space or an adjacent service area, and discharges or ducts directly. Wall-split and portable units lack both the capacity and the integrated component set for true constant temperature and humidity control — which is why the industry term is floor-standing (or floor-mounted) precision air conditioner.
+

Precision Tolerance (±1°C / ±5% RH)

Precision is the point. These units hold tight tolerances — typically ±1°C on temperature and ±5% RH on humidity — across a controllable range such as 18–30°C and 40–70% RH. That stability is what electronics production, laboratories, metrology and calibration rooms, and sensitive process environments require, and what a comfort air conditioner cannot deliver.
+

Four Functions in One Unit

One cabinet integrates four functions: refrigeration dehumidification, humidification, cooling, and heating. The controller continuously measures temperature and humidity and activates whichever functions are needed to hold both setpoints, so a single unit replaces a separate air conditioner, dehumidifier, humidifier, and heater — with unified control and one point of service.

Applications We Serve

Electronics and Semiconductor Production

Electronics and semiconductor lines need stable temperature and 40–60% RH simultaneously — too dry risks ESD damage, too humid risks corrosion and condensation on cold components. A floor-standing constant temperature and humidity unit holds both to ±1°C / ±5% RH, which a comfort AC plus a separate dehumidifier cannot coordinate.
+

Laboratories and Testing Rooms

Laboratories and testing rooms require documented, stable conditions for reproducible results and standards compliance. A single floor-standing unit holds the target temperature and humidity band continuously, with real-time display and optional logging output for QA records.
+

Metrology and Calibration Rooms

Metrology and calibration rooms hold reference conditions (commonly 20°C / 50% RH) within tight tolerance because measurement accuracy depends on it. The ±1°C / ±5% RH precision of these units is specified for exactly this purpose.
+

Pharmaceutical and Chemical Process Rooms

Pharmaceutical and chemical process and storage rooms have defined temperature and humidity windows to protect product stability and process consistency. Four-function control maintains the window year-round, dehumidifying in humid seasons and humidifying in dry ones.
+

Cleanrooms and Controlled Environments

Cleanrooms and controlled environments pair particulate control with precise temperature and humidity. The floor-standing unit handles the thermal and moisture load while the cleanroom's filtration handles particulates, often integrated through ducting and a BMS.
+

Tobacco, Cigar, and Specialty Food Storage

Tobacco, cigar, and specialty food storage and aging rooms depend on a steady high-humidity, stable-temperature environment. The unit holds the aging setpoint continuously, protecting weight, texture, and quality over long storage periods.
+

Archive, Museum, and Precision Storage

Archives, museums, and precision storage need stable conditions (often around 20°C / 50% RH) with no swings that would crack, warp, or mold sensitive materials. A constant temperature and humidity unit delivers this far more tightly than comfort HVAC.
+

Optical, Printing, and Precision Manufacturing

Optical, printing, and precision manufacturing hold dimensional stability and material behavior (paper, film, adhesives, lenses) within a controlled climate. Stable temperature and humidity keep tolerances and registration consistent across shifts and seasons.

How to Choose a Floor-Standing Air Conditioner with Humidity Control

Sizing a floor-standing air conditioner with humidity control means matching four things at once: cooling load, heating load, dehumidification load, and humidification load — for the room size, heat sources, air exchange, and the target temperature and humidity band. The matrix below maps common scenarios to a configuration; we run the full calculation against your room data.

ScenarioTypical SizeControl TargetRecommended Configuration
Small precision room / lab / instrument roomUp to 30 m²18–30°C / 40–70% RHCompact floor-standing unit (220V)
Mid-size lab / electronics workshop30–80 m²±1°C / ±5% RHStandard floor-standing unit (220V/380V)
Production hall / large controlled space80 m²+±1°C / ±5% RHLarge-capacity unit, or multiple units (380V)
Condenser must sit outside the roomAny±1°C / ±5% RHSplit indoor + outdoor configuration
Very high humidity setpoint (storage/aging)AnyHigh RH, stable tempStep up dehumidification + humidification capacity

Three adjustments to the baseline:

• High internal heat load (equipment, lighting, occupancy): size the cooling and dehumidification stages up accordingly.

• High air exchange or frequent door openings: add capacity, since outside air constantly pushes the room off setpoint.

• Tighter tolerance than ±1°C / ±5% RH: specify at the inquiry stage so the control system and component staging match the requirement.

Installation and Operation

Installation and Operation

Floor-standing units stand in or beside the conditioned room; the split configuration places the condenser outside to keep compressor heat and noise out of the controlled space. Provide a continuous water supply for humidification and a drain for condensate. Position the unit so conditioned air circulates through the whole room and the temperature/humidity sensor reads representative conditions, not the discharge stream. The controller holds both setpoints automatically and displays real-time temperature and humidity.

Control, Monitoring, and BMS Integration

Each unit holds temperature and humidity to setpoint with automatic staging of cooling, heating, dehumidification, and humidification. For labs, metrology, and pharma, specify data-logging output for QA records and BMS/Modbus integration so the unit reports to a central control system.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an air conditioner with humidity control?

It is an air conditioner that holds both temperature and humidity to a setpoint at the same time — a constant temperature and humidity unit. Unlike a comfort AC, which only removes moisture incidentally while cooling, it actively dehumidifies when the room is too humid and humidifies when it is too dry, while also cooling or heating to hold the temperature. The result is a stable, controlled climate held to a tight tolerance, typically ±1°C and ±5% RH.

How is it different from a normal AC or a portable air conditioner?

A normal split or central AC controls temperature only and cannot raise humidity or hold RH to a setpoint. A portable air conditioner is a mobile spot cooler — it cools a local area and has no precision humidity control. A floor-standing air conditioner with humidity control integrates dehumidification, humidification, cooling, and heating in one fixed cabinet and holds both temperature and humidity to spec. They solve different problems: spot cooling vs precision climate control.

Can it both add and remove humidity?

Yes — that is the defining feature. The unit dehumidifies when humidity is above the setpoint and humidifies when it is below, so it holds the target RH in both directions, across seasons. A standard AC and a standalone dehumidifier can only remove moisture; this unit also adds it, under unified control with the temperature.

What temperature and humidity tolerance can it hold?

Standard configurations hold approximately ±1°C on temperature and ±5% RH on humidity, across a controllable range of roughly 18–30°C and 40–70% RH. Tighter tolerances are available on specification — tell us the required band and stability at the inquiry stage and we configure the control system and component staging to match.

Why floor-standing rather than a wall-split unit?

Floor-standing (floor-mounted) is the industry standard form factor for precision temperature-and-humidity units because the cabinet houses the larger compressor, dehumidification coil, humidifier, and heater needed for full four-function control. Wall-split and portable units lack the capacity and integrated components to hold both setpoints. Where the condenser must sit outside the room, the unit splits into a floor-standing indoor unit and an outdoor unit.

What applications need a constant temperature and humidity unit?

Any environment where both temperature and humidity must stay within a tight band: electronics and semiconductor production (ESD and corrosion control), laboratories and metrology/calibration rooms, pharmaceutical and chemical process and storage areas, cleanrooms, tobacco/cigar and specialty food aging, and archive/museum/precision storage. These need coordinated control that a comfort AC plus a separate dehumidifier cannot provide.

Do you make custom and OEM units?

Yes. SHISHUO is a manufacturer and configures each unit to the project — capacity staging, integrated or split configuration, control and logging, and tolerance band. We support OEM (your branding on our hardware) and ODM (modified hardware) for cleanroom and lab contractors, facility builders, and distributors. Process follows our catalog 6-step flow from requirement analysis through testing and shipping.

What voltage are the units, and do you ship internationally?

Standard units run on 220V/50Hz and 380V three-phase; 110V/60Hz and 240V/50Hz are available on ODM specification. We are an export manufacturer and ship internationally — contact us with your room conditions, target temperature and humidity band, and destination market for a configured recommendation, certificates where applicable, and a quotation.
